Abstract
The relationship between acute cerebral disorders-namely, spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH), cerebrovascular accident, head trauma, intracranial space-occupying lesions, and meningitis-and various cardiovascular abnormalities has been
recognized
since the description of Cushing's phenomenon at the turn of the century. Since that time, various authors have reported electrocardiographic(ECG) aberrations associated with acute intracranial events. The incidental ECG abnormalities in these
patients
varies between 50% and 90%.
We present two patients with SAH confirmed on CT scan in whom ECG pattern was simulating myocardial infarction. Two patients have ECG abnormalities in 12-lead surface electrocardiograms after sudden onset of syncopal attack.
In case 1, a 12-lead electrocardiogram reveals elevated ST segment in lead II, III, AVF, V3-6 and depressed ST segment in lead V1.2
In case 2, a 12-lead electrocardiogram reveals elevated ST segment in had I, AVL and depressed ST segment in lead II, III, AVF.
